Jason Semeyn oversees the assessment, improvement, and management of all vessels donated to the organization. He plays a key role in guiding boats through the donation process, ensuring they’re ready for lease, sale, or program use. His responsibilities include coordinating inspections, material improvements, and ongoing maintenance across AMIkids’ growing fleet.
Born and raised in South Tampa, Jason has been on the water nearly every day of his life—he got his first boat at age 11 and hasn’t looked back since. With over 25 years of experience as a licensed Captain and charter fishing guide, Jason brings a deep understanding of vessel operations, customer service, and marine systems to his role. His background also includes extensive work in operations management, Agile and Scrum project management, environmental education, and youth development.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with a minor in Education from the University of Florida, as well as a USCG Master Captain’s License, Radar Observer Endorsement, and FCC Radio Operator certification.
Above all, Jason is a family man. He and his wife are raising four amazing kids who all share his love for boating and time on the water.
